■ White Balance
White balance (WB) is the process of removing unrealistic color casts, so that objects which appear white in person are rendered white in your photo.
Proper camera white balance has to take into account the “color temperature” of a light source, which refers to the relative warmth or coolness of white light. Our eyes are very good at judging what is white under different light sources, but digital cameras often have great difficulty with auto white balance (AWB) — and can create unsightly blue, orange, or even green color casts. Understanding digital white balance can help you avoid these color casts, thereby improving your photos under a wider range of lighting conditions.
White Balance is sometimes called gray balance, neutral balance, it is used to correct colors other than neutrals or to deliberately change them for effect.
Spectrum Genius Studio allows user to set their target CCT, and it also provide the color chart for user adjusting photography and image to the neutral colors or specific colors.

■ Exposure Compensation
Exposure compensation is a technique for adjusting the exposure indicated by a photographic exposure meter, in consideration of factors that may cause the indicated exposure to result in a less-than-optimal image. Factors considered may include unusual lighting distribution, variations within a camera system, filters, non-standard processing, or intended underexposure or overexposure. Cinematographers may also apply exposure compensation for changes in shutter angle or film speed (as exposure index), among other factors.

■ ISO、Aperture & Shutter
Photo-Sensibility (ISO):the higher the ISO value, the greater the absorbance. And the greater the absorbance, the better photos you can take in darkness. In fact, under normal circumstances, the higher the ISO value (the stronger the photo-perceptivity), the stronger the noises
Aperture: a camera uses the aperture to control the size of lens aperture, depth of field, lens image quality, and light entry together with the shutter.
Shutter: also known as the light valve. The camera uses the shutter as a critical part to control the time of exposure. The shorter the shutter time, the shorter the exposure time.

There five levels of TLCI for Studio luminaire
TLCI scores lights in five categories ranging from the poorest quality (<25) to the highest category (>85).

85~100 Errors are so small that a colorist would not consider correcting them.
75~85 A colorist would probably want to correct the color performance, but could easily get an acceptable result.
50~75 A colorist would certainly want to correct the errors, and could probably achieve an acceptable result, but it would take significant time to get there.
25~50 The color rendering is poor, and a good colorist would be needed to improve it, but the results would not be to broadcast standard.
0~25 The color rendering is bad, and a colorist would struggle for a long time to improve it, and even then the results may not be acceptable for broadcast.

Television Lighting Matching Factor [TLMF] allows users to set the data of their preferable Fresnel or Flood Light as a reference by thyself. When users select the TLMF reference to be the benchmark, the Assessment Index, ColorChecker Chart, Colorists Advice, and Spectrum Reference will base on it to calculate.

■ Colorchecker Chart
Colorists, gaffers, and technicians may visually get the difference between the “Reference Light Source” and “Measurement Light Source.” As well as the Q value at the bottom of each color patch tells you the percentage of similarity between the “Reference” & “Measurement” light sources.
For example, if you want a reddish scene, but your measurement results as shown below, the red will color shift seriously, and people should take more time to adjust the color.

■ Advice for Colorists
This table shows the magnitude and direction of the corrections needed for lightness, chroma and hue, in each of 12 color sectors. The more + and – symbols, the worse the performance and the harder it is to correct.

■ Smart Filter
Smart Filter provides users with the filter suggestions for changing the color temperature of the luminaires. Users just need to set their target color temperature, SGS will match the best fitting filter according to their measurements, and then calculates new values of TLCI, CCT, CRI and other parameters after applying the suggested filter.
